The Tseshaht First Nation Administration Office is now accepting applications for the position of Administrative Assistant for ʔuuʔatumin yaqckʷiimitqin (Nuu-chah-nulth meaning ‘Doing it for our Ancestors – Alberni Indian Residential School Project). This position is full-time contract opportunity for a period of approximately 5 months with the possibility of extension.
This position will address a comprehensive range of administrative and secretarial duties to support the work of the project team. The ideal candidate is flexible, reliable, responsive, independent, and discreet when dealing with confidential matters.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Preparation and delivery of agendas and meeting materials.
• Assisting with scheduling, planning, hosting meetings and community engagements, attending meetings, and recording minutes.
• Maintain filing systems.
• Assisting with correspondence.

EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE NEEDED

• Grade 12 equivalency with post-secondary training relevant to office services considered an asset.
• Work experience in receptionist or office administration experience is preferred.
• Excellent verbal/ interpersonal skills.
• Task oriented, and excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work as part of a team as well as work independently to complete assigned tasks in an efficient manner.
• Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office programs (MS Word, Power Point, MS Excel)
• Experience in online meeting technology (Zoom, Microsoft teams) and general office duties including printing, photocopying, ordering supplies etc.
• Familiarity and appreciation for Nuu-chah-nulth culture and traditions.
• Familiar with Trauma informed practices
• Firm understanding of confidentiality.
• Valid BC Driver’s licence and reliable transportation considered an asset.
